  Recipe for Success:

Everyone involved with Raineshaven Elementary School is very proud of the progress our students have made over the last three years. Teachers have attended numerous professional development sessions on assessment and using data to drive instruction. They use common and individual planning to work as a grade level team.

Our district has provided us with a wonderful assessment tool, the Renaissance Formative Assessment, which allows the teachers to determine specific skills in which students are showing weaknesses. Our faculty has committed to after-school tutoring for students in need. We have ten volunteers that come two times each week for in-school, one-on-one tutoring from Our Children-Our Future. They spend 30 minutes with students focusing on reading or math skills.

Our faculty and administration involve parents by communicating targeted skills that should be focused on at home. Parents are invited to monthly parent meetings provided by the Instructional Facilitator that focus on TCAP skills and strategies that parents can use at home with their children. Parents are invited to help out in classrooms in order to see the skills being taught.
