Recipe for Success:For a school to achieve success it must be a team effect. One person cannot accomplish the task. The staff at Holladay School truly believes in its mission. Each year I sit down with each teacher and go over test data. I believe it is vital for the team to evaluate the data as individuals and as a whole. The team must see the whole picture. We look for trends and establish areas to strengthen as well as celebrate the accomplishments that we have achieved. Everyone is part of the celebration. Educating the students is the ultimate goal. Establishing and maintaining high standards is vital for success. Students will attempt to meet and surpass expectations if the student is motivated and if assistance is given to achieve success. The level of expectation is high. Communication with parents and stakeholders is vital for school success. We believe that it takes everyone involved in the student's life to achieve student success. We have a parent advisory committee, partner in education program, and volunteers who work side by side to help in the level of achievement for the students who attend Holladay School. Seventy-one percent of the staff at Holladay School has a master's degree, and fifty percent have degrees beyond the masters. Several years ago we created a learning center. A program was purchased with Federal monies entitled "Compass Learning." The program is used as an assessment tool. The Learning Center also has Star Reading and Star Math that are also used as assessment tools. Holladay School is certificated as a Master School with Reading Renaissance. Each reading teacher has received training for this program. On behalf of the staff of Holladay School, it is an honor to be recognized as a recipient of the Education Consumers Foundation Value-Added Achievement Award.
